Professor Computer Productions was established by Joel Levy in 2005 inspired by his daughter as a second career after his retirement from Washington University in St. Louis as a major gift officer where he played a significant role in the $1 billion campaign. The business has evolved from one-on-one teaching geared toward seniors, to transferring Betamax & videotapes, 35 mm slides and prints to DVD, to creating Personal Commemorative Documentaries.

My initial project was my father’s 10,000 35 mm slides, which I transferred to DVD for several members of my family using a Nikon super cool scan 5000 ED for professional quality.  The pictures on this site a personal.

The idea for the Personal Commemorative Documentary came after transferring a first communion videotape to DVD, which the parents of the little girl wanted to narrate to tell their daughter their hopes and dreams for her.

I also put home movies on DVD and scan slides as well as make slide shows.  Graduations, sports teams, life cycle and organizational events are good times to have a slide show with or without music to remember the event.

Wouldn’t it be great to make a short documentary at a reasonable price with the narrative under the videotape combined with pictures of the parents’ childhoods, and the grand parents experiences along with family stories accompanied by some of their favorite music of the period?  It can be done and not for the tens of thousands of dollars you may think.

The picture was taken by Kristi Foster.  The mouse logo was also designed by my talented daughter.  I call her SBIT: Smart, Beautiful, Intelligent and Thoughtful.  We are very proud that our daughter is involved in Cultural Leadership, which is supported with private
funding by, among others, theW.K. Kellogg Foundation. She is now on the board of that organization.  She appears in this news story below though they spelled her last name incorrectly.
